Peels can also be used for other areas such as the hands or they may be used to treat damage caused by exposure to the sun (photoaging), and to remove pigmentation such as freckles, melasma, even fine lines and wrinkles.
A peel removes several layers of sun damaged skin cells, leaving fresh skin which has a more even surface and colour. Peels can stimulate new collagen to be formed which improves skin texture.
Our clinicians are skilled at using the various types of peels we offer to treat an array of skin problems and skin types. These peels are "non-ablative" as they are not "deep" peels which require much longer healing times and cause more severe denuding of the skin. Peels can be repeated as necessary; some people have superficial peels every few weeks. It is wise to wait 3 to 6 months before repeating a moderate depth peel.
